The base fabric is 40s combed cotton interlock, which provides the dimensional stability the print needs to lie flat and register cleanly. Printed garments on unstable single-knit fabrics distort the print when the fabric stretches, which is why interlock is the correct base for this construction. The garment covers the full body and has closure at the crotch or leg for diaper access without undressing.
